New Suffolk Farriery Competition
New Spring farriery event
is announced by The Suffolk Agricultural Association
A new and the first accredited training day and farriery competition held by The Suffolk Agricultural Association, outside of the Suffolk Show, will take place on March 4 and 5, 2011, at Trinity Park, Ipswich.Open to all farriers and apprentices throughout the country, the Eastern Counties Spring Championship will be held on the second day preceded by a day’s hunter shoeing tuition with one of the UK’s most eminent farriers Gary Darlow AFCL from Knutsford, who will also judge the championship.Entry forms and list of regulations can be downloaded from the Suffolk Show website at www.suffolkshow.co.uk and must be returned by February 18 with a cheque made payable to the Suffolk Agricultural Association. Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
AFA Convention
The know foot know horse team are attending the 2011 AFA Convention in Lexington, we look forward to meeting some of our US members and showing the American Farriers Association what we are about, please come and say hello.

Price Reduction
Know foot know horse.com have been striving to bring our members value for money and we are now pleased to announce that our Premium Membership price has been significantly reduced, a full year is now £72 (approx. US $110 or €80). As a sign of good faith, all existing premium members who joined or renewed their memberships in the last 6 months will be given an extra year on their membership and all of our promotional discounts will still apply. We are able to do this by reducing our overheads and introducing an exciting new element to the site as of February 2011, we will be opening an online farrier supplies with customers being able to view products being used in 30 second commercials, before having the opportunity to purchase.

Two legends in the world of farriery providing the essential basics of efficient workings behind an anvil, This Demo. was held at the Champion of Champions earlier this year, even though the sound quality to this movie is slightly impared due to the background noise the points put across will improve any farrier or blacksmiths efficiency behind an anvil regardless of their experience.

Know foot know horse.com is constantly striving to improve the service we provide to our members, consequently we are introducing a new variable speed flashplayer, which will allow movies to be streamed at the best image quality depending on your broadband speed at the time and also allows the movie to be played at full screen. The files are smaller and so should allow for quicker streaming whilst retaining image quality.
Champion of Champions
Know foot know horse have recently been asked by Mustad Hoofcare to create a movie on the "Champion of Champions" competition to be held at Stoneleigh, England, on May 8th. The competition features 12 world champions going head to head in a one off competition, with the winner receiving a cheque for £5000 donated to the charity of their choice. We will also have a boothe at the farriery focus day so any of our members can drop in for a chat or if you are thinking of joining then please come and see us.

Cavalry pairs competition
Know foot know horse has recently created a movie of the cavalry pairs competition held at the Knightsbridge Barracks. The competition involves a pair of farriers shoeing a front foot with a plain stamped shoe and a hind foot with a plain stamped caulk and wedge in one hour.

Know Foot Know Horse launched on the 21th November 2008. Its been over a year for us to get to this stage and a very steep learning curve. We feel like we are about to embark on a journey with our ultimate destination being an improvement of farriery standards and a sharing of the wealth of knowledge that as a craft we posses. The first stage of any journey is to pack your bags and we feel we have only just chosen the bag required for this trip. None the less we hope that farriers worldwide join us on what for many will be a journey of discovery. We look forward to hearing from our members.
